Transition Tours welcome individuals and groups interested in finding out more about the first Transition Town that sparked an international movement. Please email us to express your interest in a bespoke tour or to secure your place on the next planned events taking place on 28th June and 2nd August 2024.

The tour will give you an insight into the history of Totnes and how communities can work together to tackle some of our biggest challenges from climate change and food security, to energy shortages and creating strong local economies.

Cost:  There is a suggested voluntary donation and all surplus, after expenses, goes towards the charitable work of Transition Town Totnes. We suggest £20 for visitors and £10 for locals, but please pay what you can or what you think it is worth - it's up to you. And we really mean that - even if it is nothing!  The most important thing is that you come.

Where: Market Square on Totnes High Street, between the tree and the ramp to the Civic Hall. We begin with introductions and then we will walk around town, stopping at projects and places of interest.

Dates are irregular, so follow our social media/ event calendar for updates. Enquire via the email link above.

Access: Please advise in advance of any mobility issues so we can make arrangements as necessary. Please note, the tour does involve plenty of time walking around town.

Private groups.
Come and visit Transition Town Totnes as part of your study tour or away day. Our friends at Future Bound can organise a one-off Transition Tour for your group. We have experience of working with a wide range of groups, from schools to corporate teams, Local Authorities, NGOs, and university research delegations. Find out more on the website!

"The Transition tour was extremely interesting and a great way to learn how people are putting ideas into practice in the field of sustainability. It complemented our week's activities at Schumacher very well, taking us into the 'real' world and seeing community-level action." - Masters student, Schumacher College.
