Paul Bradbury is the new Incredible Edible Coordinator in Totnes.

Paul has been a keen gardener for a number of years, starting out in London as part of a growing community that produced food for market gardens and a box scheme. He supported volunteers and trained apprentices.

He moved to Devon with his partner and two boys a couple of years ago to live at Land Matters in Allaleigh, where they live off grid and grow almost all their own food to eat.

He said:

“In London we had an allotment and were just not doing the usual London things anymore, yet we were still paying London prices. Once we saw Land Matters and the surrounding area, including Totnes, we just knew it was the perfect fit.”

“I had always thought about living off the land and was going to buy somewhere with friends. We were looking for agricultural and development land but then we came to Devon, and I found Land Matters to be exactly what we were looking for. I volunteered for a bit before we moved in.”

Previously, Paul had a career in writing music for Television and theatre but even then, he says he was already interested in growing his own and occasionally did some gardening for clients. When it became more difficult to get freelance work in the music industry, he began doing more gardening.

“I’m really excited about taking on Incredible Edible and looking forward to introducing other people and getting them excited that they can eat stuff that they have grown themselves too. Community gardens like this also help bring people together and that’s what it’s all about.”
