Play Group
Please note: this is no longer an active project. However, we're always interested in new projects starting or old projects being re-ignited. If you'd be interested in re-igniting this project in Totnes, please get in touch by emailing info@transitiontowntotnes.org
The TTT "Play" Group was initiated by Mike Jones, who has a background in creating natural children's play areas. The group is a mixture of parents and those already working as play leaders, Forest School Leaders or with young people, as well as adults who would like to invite more play in their lives. The group looks at a range of subjects related to play for all age groups, the importance of play and how it fits in with the Transition's aims. To read more about why Play is so important in Transition, please see Mike's article Planet Earth's Most Playful on the Transition Network's webpage.
The Aims of the Group are to encourage all members of the Totnes community to play together, particularly in the natural environment. In the future, we hope to create a map marking down all the areas in Totnes and District that are fun places to play, promote the creation of more play areas, with the long term aim of building an adventure playground in Totnes.
