The Transition Town Totnes Arts Network is a creative community interested in Transition principles.
The arts, innovation, design and creative direction have a vital and extensive role to play in preparing for these changing times.
Art creates temporary spaces, invites exploration and engagement, and delivers practical projects that enliven community, revitalise quality of life and empower culture and expression. The need for new paradigms of thinking, feeling and relating, and living in transition are traversed and pioneered through passionate, responsive art works and projects.
We are a web of creatives of all descriptions: filmmakers, wordsmiths, artistic community curators, theatricals, dancers, sculptors, furniture makers, architects, painters, photographers, musicians, visual artists, graphic artists, graffiti artists, guerilla makers, upcyclers, trash-ionsistas, and all around creatives interested in transition.
Creative products and services are also a source of income for many who use the Transition Town Totnes Arts Network. Recognising this we aim to help creatives and local businesses interested in Transition to link together. We realise the potentials of art based on transition, and help guide and advise people in these pursuits.
Loosely put, our aims are:
- Explore and expand creatively engaged practices
- Encourage and support the TTT community
- Engage the larger local community
