September 7, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 6:30 pm

The best way to find out about Transition in Totnes

Join us for a fun and interactive introduction, visiting some of the projects and gaining an insight into the overall project.  A great way to get to know the town and the Transition activity that goes on within it.

Who for?  For locals and visitors.  (For private tours and group visits, click here)

When?  Mainly (but not always) Fridays from April to October.

Dates coming up:

  • Fridays 3-630pm approx. We normally end at the New Lion Brewery so allow some extra time to hang out and chat after the tour.   13th April, 4th May, 15th June, 13th July, 27th July, 10th August, 24th August, 7th September (starts at 2pm)
  • Food Festival Special - Saturday 22nd September, 10am-1230. Ends at the main Festival at Vire Island.  As part of TTT's Forking Local Food Festival.
  • Eco Homes Special - Saturday  6th and Sunday 7th October.  As part of TTT's  Open Eco Homes Weekend these unique tours will make particular reference to the building and housing side of our work.

Can’t do the above dates, or looking for something more bespoke? If you can get a group together, contact us to discuss how we can do a tour especially for you.  Please note this is only if you have a group, or are able to pay group costs; sadly we cannot no longer afford to do one to one private tours.

Cost:  A voluntary donation is requested and any surplus after expenses goes towards the overheads of Transition Town Totnes, a registered charity. We suggest £20 for visitors and £10 for locals, but please pay what you can or what you think it is worth - it's up to you. And we really mean that - even if it is nothing!  The most important thing is that you come.

Where: Market Square on Totnes High Street, between the tree and the ramp to the Civic Hall. We begin with introductions and then we will walk around town, stopping at various places of interest for a chat.

Contact:   To book a place contact Hal Gillmore by email, or phone: 07977 178214.

Access:  Please advise in advance of any mobility issues so we can make arrangements as necessary. Please note, the TTT offices do not have disabled access and the afternoon will involve plenty of time walking around town and using some taxis.

"The Transition tour ... was extremely interesting and a great way to learn how people are putting ideas into practice in the field of sustainability. It complemented our week's activities at Schumacher very well, taking us into the 'real' world and seeing community level action."  Masters student, Ashridge Business School.
