Clay Park volunteer session – Transition Homes

September 10 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

We're holding a work session at Clay Park on Sunday Sept 10th between 2-5pm and are looking for volunteers to join us!

We'll be starting to prepare the site for construction to begin next year, including clearing barbed wire from the boundaries and mapping the badger setts. If there's any litter along the roadside boundary we'll clear that up too! Hopefully there will be sloes and other delicious things to forage while we're there so bring a container (although it's probably a little early for blackberries). Clearing the barbed wire will make it safe for wildlife and for our upcoming hedgelaying activities (see photo of the trial stretch, laid in March).

Please bring tough gloves and appropriate footwear (and cutting tools if you have them) - while we'll take every precaution, barbed wire can be dangerous so please take care of yourself and others. Sorry - no under 18s as our insurance can't cover them.

Know a badger enthusiast? We'd love someone who can help to identify the active setts to join us. Please drop us an email: info@transitionhomes.org.uk

Any questions: give us a call on 01803 867358 or on the day 07783 176826.
