As part of the Transition Towns’ ten-year celebrations ending on Earth Day, April 22nd, Inner Transition is offering various events. This one, ‘All Our Relations’, is an opportunity to explore ‘writing the earth’, with author Roselle Angwin, 10am - 1pm.
Spring, it is said, walks towards us at 2mph. Come and meet spring and the new growth of Eostre, time of the Mother Goddess with all the fertility and fecundity of this time of year, in this hidden part of the South Hams. Climb into the skin of hazel, gorse, celandine, apple tree, pebble, hare, magpie, wild garlic, new bluebell, returning swallow. Give them a voice.
Come and look with wilder eyes, listen with the ears of a poet, loosen the grip of personness. Come and refind your deep connection with ‘our other relations’, and write.
This is about exploration, so you don’t need any expertise in story-writing or poetry – just a willingness to bring an open heart – and a note book. (You also don’t need to be involved in the Transition Town network to sign up for this workshop.) There may be an opportunity to showcase your work on April 21st, in Totnes.
Booking is required, via Roselle: roselle at fire-in-the-head.co.uk (directions given on booking)
Roselle is an author and poet who has been leading international workshops in creative, reflective, therapeutic and eco-writing, as well as in the psychology of myth and personal growth, for 26 years.
Roselle’s passionate about the meeting points between inner and outer landscapes: relationship, connection, creativity, wild places, and how these things shape our stories and, ultimately, the way we live. For the last several years, her work has focused on what she calls ‘eco-soul work’: the life of the ecological and mythological imagination.
