It's the Great Big Green Week from 24th September to 2nd October - the UK's biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.
In Totnes and the surrounding area, local groups are doing amazing things for our environment and some of them will
be sharing their projects and skills with our community over the week.
Various activities are taking place at the newly opened Totnes Climate Hub.
Come and visit the Climate Hub. Discover the numerous ways that we can respond to the challenge of climate change.
Share Shed Pop-Up Sale in Totnes Market Place – Wednesday 28th September. A chance to buy great second hand tools for less.
Seed Giveaway at the Methodist Church by Totnes Fairtrade group – 10am Thursday, 29th September. Get free rewilding and vegetable seeds to grow at home.
Foraging Walk from the Hub – 5-7pm 29th September with Myrtle Cooper. This will be a delightful opportunity to learn about wild foods that grow around us and use them to
supplement your diet. Book tickets and meet at the Hub.
Apple Pressing and harvest Sharing at the Hub – 11-2pm Saturday 1st October, at The Mansion in front of the Hub. Learn how to press apples the old way and get some fresh apple juice (bring a bottle). Bring any excess vegetables that you have grown to swap and share with the community.
Are you interested in creating a new wildlife project or do you want to join one? Wilder Communities can give advice and inspiration for setting up local nature projects at the Hub – 10-4pm, Saturday 1st October.
Apple Celebration and picnic 2-4:30pm Sunday 2nd October at the Follaton cemetery. Care for some trees, collect some apples, sing songs & learn crafts. An event organised by Trees for Totnes and Incredible Edible.
