29th Oct – 18th Nov
High St and Fore St, Totnes
To accompany this year’s Transition Town Totnes Film Festival, the TTT Art & Creativity group, has organised a trail of work by local artists in shop windows along the High Street and Fore Street in Totnes, on the theme of Clear Water.
The group aims to engage as many different sectors of the local population as possible, to start a community-wide conversation about how to protect our water resources from pollution. The response has been fantastic- local schools involved include KEVICCs and Berry Pomeroy Primary School, as well as more than a dozen artists, the Library and several local businesses who are offering their shop fronts as pop-up art galleries.
The theme of Clear Water is particularly appropriate as the highlight of the Transition Town Totnes Film Festival is the UK premiere of Sharkwater Extinction, a thrilling and inspiring action-packed journey that follows filmmaker Rob Stewart as he exposes the massive illegal shark fin industry and the political corruption behind it — a conspiracy that is leading to the extinction of sharks.
Sharkwater Extinction will play on Saturday 17th November at 9 pm in Totnes Civic Hall
Mosaics by Berry Pomeroy students, to be displayed in Mountain Warehouse and Greenlife
