TTT Inner Transition welcomes Paz Treuquil & Guillermo Piquero for an evening of sharing and learning at Totnes Methodist Church, 7-9pm.
Paz is a Mapuche woman, from the mountains of what is now called Chile, now living in Spain. Mapuche means ‘people of the earth’, in the language Mapudungun, which means ‘speech of the earth’. This culture is deeply rooted in spirituality, ancient wisdom and respect to Mother Earth. Paz will share cosmovision and teachings from her culture, and some of her paintings. This part of the evening will be held in Spanish and translated as we go.
Guillermo comes from the north of Spain, and has spent years researching and writing about "the European indigenous worldview" that was shared in our continent for more than 35,000 years. He will be sharing some of his research into this richly important subject and will show us images from the prehistoric symbolic universe.
About his book ‘Wild Mythology’, Paz says: Many Europeans crave to find their spiritual path, but almost always they take as reference, the spirituality from other cultures rather than their own. This book proposes a reconnection with the roots of the european ancestors tree. Europe, as the birth place for a way of understanding the world which has taken us to the edge of the precipice, has to go back to its origins and remember that there was once a time in which here too lived cultures which respected, defended and loved life.
