The time and date for December's film was changed to avoid clashing with the Tuesday Christmas market.
The Good Lie was screened in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival before being released on October 3, 2014. Another major screening was held by the Greenwich International Film Festival on October 22, 2014, for the benefit of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. You can see the trailer here.
