Drop into the Civic Hall, Totnes, any time between 10am and 3pm, to meet suppliers of eco-friendly goods and services, plus home energy installers and eco-builders, at this free entry event. The fair also features talks and demonstrations, children’s activities to give parents time to look round, and a café - this year we are collaborating with the hugely successful Pop-Up Thai cafe.

11 am: Andrew Collenette of Totnes Solar on the future of solar including battery storage.
N.B. Andrew's home is open on Saturday 15th October as part of the open eco-homes weekend and includes the first non-test Tesla Powerwall battery in the country
12 noon: Erica Lewis on a local proposed self-build opportunity

Erica Lewis is a member of Dartington Hall Trust's Steering Group, looking at the potential for a self build scheme. She is also a director of Transition Homes CLT and of the Land Society which helped Broadhempston CLT get their recently completed affordable self build scheme started.
1pm: James Shorten on 'Positive Development and what the planning system could do to realise it'
Imagine, for a moment, that development is a good thing!
James Shorten is a planner who has focused on sustainability in rural planning for over 20 years. He has worked as a campaigner, academic, researcher & consultant. Projects have ranged from national policy research to work with individual communities. He has worked extensively on planning for smaller settlements, rural housing, & has written two neighbourhood plans.
2pm: Straw bale building demonstration, with Hawkland Ecological Construction
