We were all very sad to lose stalwart supporter John earlier this year, and will be planting a heart-nut tree in his memory, with a plaque alongside, on Sunday December 6th in Follaton arboretum at 2pm. The site will be just below the memorial garden for still-born children - follow the zig-zag path from the entrance to the arboretum, to where the path straightens out, and there you will see the site.
It is rough ground, so I suggest you come in wellies, and hope that a few people will help with digging the hold and planting and clearing around. Tools will be there, and all that is necessary for planting this heart-nut tree and plaque.
Please pass on this information to those who you think might want to come. Anyone who would like to contribute to the cost of the tree and plaque please let me know. As well as the planting of the tree, this will be another occasion to share any stories or reminiscences that we might want to offer. I have a tree poem that I think John would love.
