Spirit of ’45. Made by Ken Loach, this inspiring film documents the accelerated rise of the UK welfare state in the five years immediately following the second world war. Determined leadership and a strong sense of civic duty brought about nationalisation of the railways, the NHS and nationalisation of utilities for the benefit of all citizens. Excellent old footage throughout.
Door open 6.30pm, 7pm for supper, film starts at 8pm. Tickets available at the TTT office at 43 Fore Street.
The film club usually meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, and costs £4/£3 concessions.
