Facilitated by Larch Maxey, with Olly Frankland, Nicky Baines, Annie and others
In the morning, from 10 am to 1 pm, we will continue our work to establish a forest garden in the Follaton Arboretum: creating a path leading to a sitting area, as well as planting a few more trees and shrubs, caring for the existing ones (weeding, mulching, pruning) and also caring for the nursery, near the forest garden site, where we grow young fruit, nut and other useful trees.
This is one of our regular family-friendly sessions taking place on the first Sunday of each month, when all are welcome, to help or just to give some verbal support! We learn gardening skills from each other and enjoy ourselves! Tools provided, and you can join for as little or as long as you wish.
In February we will share a picnic under the gazebo (or somewhere else if the weather is not too good - stay tuned for details), then make our way to Castle Meadow where around 2.30 pm we will meet to plant fruit and nut trees in a newly-created fenced area (to keep the sheep out). Come and help us ! Planting trees ig good for us, good for Totnes, good for the planet! And fun...
In early spring, Larch will be leading a grafting workshop (and is always looking for scions of existing fruit trees). Contact Annie for more information!
