Thursday the 19th of September sees the opening of the new REconomy Centre – made possible by the generosity of South Hams District Council, in collaboration with Transition Town Totnes and supported by Totnes Town Council, KEVICC and others.
The REconomy Centre is an exciting new resource supporting the development of our local economy. It's a 'drop-in' incubator, a workplace for start-up businesses, and a meeting place for community groups interested in supporting new economic models such as social enterprise.
The Reconomy Centre is also home to the Local Economic Blueprint project, which was published earlier this year and identified a multi million pound opportunity to generate jobs and livelihoods within the local area. There is much untapped potential for relocalising elements the economy of Totnes and District and maximising this potential creates new incomes, strengthens the local economy and secures the long term needs of future generations.
As a 'drop-in' incubator, the Reconomy Centre provides an attractive, nurturing work environment, that include access to tailored support for your project, networking with peers and workshops based on skill sharing . Drop in and use a desk for hour or a day, co-work with colleagues or come for a workshop. If you want a permanent space, that may be possible, too.
You’ll find the Totnes REconomy Centre at 13, Leechwell Street, opposite the Lamb. Please join us for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 6.30pm on Thursday 19th September.
