Transition Town Totnes is a partner in the Heat Project, a pioneer Green Deal project, which is being co-ordinated by Enact Energy. Part of the project involves offering free Green Deal Assessments (Home Energy Audits) to a limited number of local residents in specific areas in the South West, including Totnes and the surrounding parishes. Based on the outcome of the audit, householders will be advised about a range of energy saving measures, grants and funding options available to them to put towards potential Green Deal works to help improve the energy saving potential of their homes. Some households, including those on qualifying income related benefits and those living in homes with solid walls or hard to treat cavity walls, may qualify for part or full ECO (Energy Company Obigation) grant funding for measures such as loft insulation, cavity and solid wall insulation, boiler and heating upgrades. These households will be priotised for a free assessment. To apply to have a free green deal assessment or to simply find out more please contact Mary Popham at TTT ASAP (the project only runs until the end of March 2013 and there are a limited number of free assessments available) on 07815 799996 or marypopham@btinternet.com
