…and bring a smile to our face. Yes, they are TTT's free skillshares, still going strong and showcasing the diversity of talents in Totnes. Here are some visual testimonies of their varied flavours – shown in reverse chronological order.
On the first Sunday in November we've had Emma Capper's card-making workshop, which started with a stunning collective work performed to a whirling gipsy tune, and continued with individual collage creations.
We had knitting at the lovely new Social Fabric shop, where the owner Caroline and her team run all kinds of practical and creative workshops, including a free Knit and Natter social gathering. Check their website!
We had a wonderful walk on Dartmoor with expert Inge Page, and in the group was also Verran Townend, who ran a previous skillshare on Dartmoor. We climbed onto some exposed heights, enjoyed magnificent views and settled for a picnic in a sheltered valley with stream and grassed banks. Heavenly!
Kyle Perkins ran two Parkour sessions in Totnes. Here is a photograph of the first one, which turned out to be almost a private lesson! The second was attended by eight participants – sorry no photo for that, but more sessions are planned in the near future. Stay tuned!
No picture either for the lovely acupressure session ran by acupuncturist Charlotte Johnston, nor for the talk on parenting given by Margaret Cushen and Chris Grimshaw...
A group of us much enjoyed a day-long willow weaving workshop at Bowden House with Bridget Coatalen, who is already offering another one, on November 16th!
Cooking a delicious meal at Eden Rise with Lalitya Clarke was also fun, and the last monthly session I attended at the Follaton community plot – now with a twin site for a forest garden – was blessed with great weather and a lovely crowd.
Sewing with Anna Ash continues on a monthly basis. Here is a picture of the first one this season, and they have now become quite popular. Anna will be with her sewing machine at the Winterfest on December 1st – an event not to be missed!
As ever, much gratitude to the facilitators who offer their time and skills for free, and to all the participants who make it such friendly social events.
To get on the mailing list and receive information on all forthcoming skillshares, please send an email to Annie on tttskillshare@gmail.com. And of course, feel free to offer or suggest a session!
