Every other Friday throughout the summer we have run 'Transition Walks on Friday' in which we welcome anyone interested in learning more about Transition Town Totnes whilst also getting out there and discovering the town and its people.
Have you ever tried to cover everything that is TTT in four hours whilst also walking around town? Every time we seem to have done it differently and it never feels like we have covered it all. What an amazing story we have to tell!
In the July edition of this bulletin Transition Network's Ben Brangwyn ran the editorial with comment about people coming from all over the world to visit Transition Town Totnes, concluding "for some though, Totnes is a bit of a Mecca, and they'll make their pilgrimage come what may." And so they have. We have welcomed 29 people in this way from 10 different countries; Spain; Italy; Luxembourg; France; Germany; Ireland; Austria; USA; Sweden, and the UK. No one from Korea this year! It has been interesting to see how many people are choosing Totnes as a place to study English because of TTT. Some people were studying in Plymouth because they could not get a place in any of the Totnes language schools.
Thanks to Jay, Sima and everyone else who has helped in some way with these. People really do appreciate it.
These walks are not just for our visitors. Locals are welcome too. If you would like to learn more about TTT and Totnes in general, please do join us. There will be another one on Friday October 12th, 2-6pm. Meet at the TTT Office.
