Transition Town Totnes (TTT) is a dynamic, umbrella organisation and charity consisting of different theme groups, such as food, building and housing, business and livelihoods, etc. and around 30 local projects, often originating from these groups. It is self-organising, mainly volunteer operated, and community-led. Projects are developed by interested members of the community coming together to make them happen, ith support for sund-raising from the TTT office.
Key decisions are taken by a Core group which also steers our legally constituted body TTT Ltd which has some paid staff and a board of Trustees.
The busy TTT Office at 43 Fore Street, Totnes, provides the home for the TTT Initiative. The Transition Network work from the office upstairs, and many of our TTT group and project meetings happen here, where we have a meeting room and a small office.
We also have 1 full-time manager, called Frances Northrop, as well as a part-time office coordinator, called Lou Brown. Lou's role includes the plannning, co-ordination and publicity for the Programme of Events as well as all the day-to-day administrative and financial systems that keep the organisation running smoothly. Sally Croft is our fantastic volunteer accountancy guru.
