Media enquiries

Thank you for your interest in Transition Town Totnes.  We are keen to share the Transition story as much as possible but please note that, due to the high level of media interest in our work, we are often a little more busy than we can handle and we have to give priority to delivering our projects in hand.

We want to help you get what you need as quickly as possible.  In order to do so we ask you follow the checklist below before contacting us:

Do you need Transition Town Totnes (TTT) or the Transition Network?    TTT is the humble local Transition Initiative here in Totnes and District.  We focus exclusively on delivering Transition in Totnes and District.  If you have more general questions or want to do a feature on the global movement, you need to contact the Transition Network. They will be able to point you in the direction of other Transition Initiatives who might be delivering interesting projects in your area of interest.   They will also be able to advise on terms on visiting Totnes.

Are you local, regional, national or international press?    At TTT we prioritise local and regional media.  Our target print press is the Totnes Times, Herald Express and Western Morning News.  If you are from national or international press, you are advised to contact the Transition Network first.

Is there a project you are specifically interested in?  Please download our press info pack at the bottom of this page which includes information about our most asked about projects.  This includes relevant contact details.  You are also advised to visit their respective pages on the website.  You can print off a pdf of the front page for all our groups and projects.

Please note nearly all the people involved in TTT are volunteers.  They are not necessarily trained in talking to the media and may not be able to get back to you in the timescale you may be accustomed to.

TTT in the media - back catalogue

Below follows links to all the press interest we generated in our first 18 months or so.  After then we lost track a bit -  we couldn't afford a PR or clippings agency and we had to prioritise delivering Transition on the ground, over hosting journalists and attending to our scrap book, in order to stand any chance of living up to the media interest.

We have an archive of our early press releases here.

More up to date reports and information maybe found via our newsletters or video library.
