This is a brief overview. Funding bids have been submitted.
The Great Home Retrofit Programme will drive the retrofitting of existing Totnes housing stock to increase its energy efficiency, therefore reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, and reducing householders’ exposure to increasing energy prices.
This programme has 2 main phases. The first phase will categorise the housing stock in terms of age/efficiency and provide general guidance for retrofitting each main category.
This information will then be used to focus Phase 2 on the housing that is least efficient and most cost effective to retrofit, and possibly where lower income families live, given they are more vulnerable to rising energy prices.
Phase 2 will then create home-specific action plans to transform the house to run on less energy, and then will support the execution of this action plan and the retrofitting required.
