"There is no alternative" claimed Old King Coal as he defended himself against charges of climate crime. The jury thought differently and, after hearing evidence from solar, wind and water power, they unanimously convicted the messy old soul.
Around 20 people joined the procession up to the Civic Square where the trial took place. Coal was in chains and vainly tried to defend himself against charges from the plants, animals and people threatened by climate change.
Fossil Fools Day 2009
After considering the verdict from the entirely unbiased audience the judge sentenced Coal to the stocks and the unsympathetic crowd cheered as the sentence was carried out.
Everyone except Coal had a good time and look forward to bringing other members of the 'Fossil Fools Gang' to justice.
