This workshop will explore these natural systems in terms of more localised food from field to fork, the role of farming as part of a more integrated food production system where local people play a more supportive role and how we can lessen the impact of our activities on the natural environment and waterways.  Rising energy and oil costs  which will have a major impact on farming and food miles are challenging us to rethink food production; come and explore some of the ideas being brought to the table.

Will we all be vegetarian and growing our own by 2030?

What has all this got to do with oil getting expensive?

What might future farming look like?

How can we protect our wildlife?

How many allotments will we need?

Why will water get more expensive as
energy costs rise?

These are just some of the questions we will be discussing at this thought provoking workshop

Who should attend? Farmers, growers, producers, naturalists, ecologists, water service providers, environmentalists, gardeners, vendors, consumers; anyone with an interest in the future of food & land
